| Objective
The objectives of the Regional Human Development Report for Latin America and the Caribbean are:
- To document the current trends of inequality in the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.
- To incorporate inequality aspects in the measurements of the Human Development Indices.
- To estimate the quantitative importance of the diverse determinants of intra- and inter-generational transmission of inequality.
- To identify the most important restrictions in education, health and labor market participation areas that prevent the reduction of intergenerational transmission of inequality.
- To identify the main political economy aspects arising from extreme inequality that characterizes Latin American and the Caribbean countries.
